Three points won: #ODRWIS 1:2
On Sunday afternoon, April 13th, Wisła Kraków faced Odra Opole away. Goals from Rafał Mikulec and Angel Rodado ensured Wisła Kraków returned to Kraków with three points.
Wisła started creating chances from the very beginning. Early in the match, Angel Rodado fired a shot on goal, forcing Haluch to intervene. In the 5th minute, Kacper Duda shot home from a free kick, but his shot was blocked by the Odra defense. Moments later, the youngster delivered a superb cross from a corner, creating another threat. Odra's players tried to build on their attacks and counterattack Wisła Kraków's quick play. In the 7th minute, Kobusiński had Letkiewicz ahead of him, but at a crucial moment, he lost control of the ball – Uryga saved the game by blocking the Odra striker. Emotions were running high – a foul by Duda gave Odra a chance from a set piece, but the shot was off target.
Moments later, Duda and Żemła clashed dangerously, but fortunately, both players returned to the game. A few minutes later, after Duda's cross, Mikulec passed the ball to Rodado, who fired a powerful shot towards the Blue and Reds goalkeeper. This time, Haluch rose to the occasion, saving the Spaniard's shot. The White Star dominated the first half, though their finishing was lacking – Rodado hit the wall with a free kick, and Mikulec narrowly missed his attempt.
Wisła finally got their way late in the first half. In the 43rd minute, Duda's perfect corner was met by Mikulec, who headed the ball into the net, giving Wisła the lead. From that point on, the scoreboard read 0-1 to Wisła. Barely a minute later, Alfaro sent a superb pass to Rodado, who doubled the lead with a long-range shot. Two quick strikes sent Wisła to the locker room with a well-deserved 2-0 lead.
Consolidate the lead
The hosts started the second half with two substitutions, while Wisła coach Mariusz Jop opted for an unchanged starting eleven. Less than three minutes into the second half, Czyżewski delivered a well-placed cross towards Letkiewicz's goal. The Wisła goalkeeper, attempting to catch the ball, made a mistake and the ball slipped out of his hands, falling into the net, allowing the hosts to score a goal. In the 52nd minute, Kobusiński had a golden opportunity to equalize after a mistake by Uryga, but the Wisła defender recovered and blocked the striker's attempt. As the minutes ticked by, the match became increasingly even, with a slightly lower intensity, but Wisła continued to create opportunities – Baena tried his luck from distance, and Alfaro sought contact in the opponent's penalty area.
In the 69th minute, Mariusz Jop made his first substitutions – Kiakos and Zwoliński came on for Duarte and Alfaro. Wisła continued to try and maintain their lead, and coach Jarosław Skrobacz's side searched for an equalizer, but neither side could find the balance. In stoppage time, Kiss executed a brilliant move, passing to Kiakos, who dribbled past several players and laid the ball to Zwoliński, who slotted the ball into the net, but the referee blew for offside. Ultimately, Wisła held on to their lead and enjoyed another league victory, securing all three points!
