Duda: We feel dissatisfied, but we showed character
After the 2-2 draw in Nieciecza, Kacper Duda shared his thoughts on the course of the match, in which he was voted the best player of Wisła Kraków, chosen in the Socios Man of the Match vote.
The midfielder admitted that the weather conditions didn't make things easier for either team, but it was the White Star who felt dissatisfied after the final whistle. "It wasn't easy. Both teams played in similar conditions, and obviously the weather didn't help. I haven't seen so many accidental slip-ups in a long time," he admitted with a smile. "A draw is definitely not satisfactory for us. We had our chances; I'd even say we dominated for a large part of the match. The opponent had fewer, but they were able to capitalize on them," he said.
During the match, Wisła had to come from behind twice, which the midfielder believes demonstrates the team's fighting spirit. However, the player didn't hide the fact that the lack of a winning goal left him feeling a bit dissatisfied. "Coming back into the match twice is a great feeling, but if we could seal it with a victory, it would be even more satisfying. Moments like these always motivate and build the team. We knew we had to fight until the end and not let our fans down; that always motivates us," he noted.
Duda was also pleased with an individual accolade, a superb assist from a set piece. He admitted, however, that he had hoped for more goals from such plays. "These set pieces are a bit of a success for me, but a bit disappointing. I'm glad we managed to get the ball in the net, but we had a lot of those, and it's a shame we didn't convert more of them into goals. However, I think we're on the right track to making free kicks and corners our strengths, especially considering recent matches," he emphasized.
When asked about the atmosphere in the locker room after the final whistle, the Wisła player couldn't hide his emotions. "There's a lot of dissatisfaction, there's no denying it. If we'd just made a better save or gotten ahead of our opponents faster, we would have come away with three points today. But we're heartened by the fact that our unbeaten streak continues. We weren't playing against a weak opponent; they're also fighting for promotion to the Ekstraklasa, after all, and yet we've come back twice. Now we have to learn from this match and focus on fighting for our full potential until the end of the season." Concluding the conversation, Kacper Duda highlighted the crucial support of the fans, who were able to accompany the team to an away match after a long break. "It's great, we missed it. Our fans didn't disappoint; at times, I really felt like we were playing at home. Their support gave us an extra boost. To be honest, without them, overcoming those losses would have been much more difficult. I wish every away match was like this," he concluded.
