U-15: No points from Nowy Sącz
Despite an ambitious performance and several promising displays, Wisła Kraków U-15 returned from Nowy Sącz scoreless. The hosts capitalized on a defensive error to win the match 1-0 with the only goal, leaving the Kraków team with the bitter taste of defeat.
The match was played at a fast pace from the outset, with Sandecja imposing a high-pressure approach, attempting to seize the initiative in the visitors' half from the outset. Wisła attempted to play the ball out of their own net, but inaccuracies in the opening stages prevented them from gaining control. As early as the second minute, the hosts created a dangerous situation following a defensive error by the Kraków team. The ball fell to the Sandecja striker, who fired a shot, but fortunately, the shot bounced off the post. This warning gave Wisła a moment to reconsider their play and they became somewhat more organized defensively. The visitors struggled to transition smoothly from defense to attack, but once they managed to break the pressure, they were able to maintain possession. Unfortunately, there was a lack of accurate passing behind the opponent's defense, which limited clear-cut scoring opportunities. In the 15th minute, Wisła launched a strong three-man attack involving Igor Zaszczudlowicz, Aleksander Wróblewski, and Franciszek Szpil. This combination resulted in the ball being sent into Sandecja's penalty area, creating a fantastic scoring opportunity, but unfortunately, they failed to capitalize. The first half saw Wisła enjoy slightly more possession, although Sandecja consistently maintained high pressure. Goal-scoring opportunities were rare for either side, primarily arising from set pieces.
The game pattern remained largely unchanged after the break. Wisła attempted to maintain possession, but still couldn't convert it into clear-cut chances. Sandecja, on the other hand, continued to press high, but to little effect. The crucial moment arrived in the 64th minute. After a simple defensive error, the hosts capitalized on a 3-on-2 situation and, after a swift counterattack, scored to make it 1-0. This goal proved decisive, as despite Wisła's efforts, they failed to equalize. In the final quarter of the match, Sandecja reverted to a low defense, while Wisła tried to play the ball between the lines, searching for an equalizer. The Kraków team attempted several more attacks, but the score remained unchanged.
"We put a lot of work into this match, but we lacked effectiveness and the right decisions in the most important moments. One mistake changed the course of the match. It's a valuable lesson that we will continue to work on," said coach Ślusarczyk.
