Victory against Wawel and promotion to the third league

Wisła Kraków's final match of the 2022/23 season saw them face Wawel Kraków away. The Reymont team capped off a remarkably successful season with another victory, defeating their opponents 6-1 and securing promotion to the third league. Aleksandra Łagowska, Adrianna Sobolewska, Anna Płaszczyk (two), Lilla Mikulińska, and Dominika Heryan scored for the White Star.

Coach Mateusz Król's players pressed their opponents hard from the start, taking the lead in the 16th minute when Aleksandra Łagowska capped a brilliant team effort between Julia Łoboz and Małgorzata Kołodziejska with a well-placed shot under the crossbar. A few minutes later, Adrianna Sobolewska found herself one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper and then struck with her left foot. The White Star players continued their momentum and managed to beat the Wawel goalkeeper twice more before the break – Anna Płaszczyk fired home a shot in the 33rd minute, and Lilla Mikulińska found the back of the net from a corner just before halftime.

Three points and Wisła's promotion

After the break, Wisła's players continued to execute their goals, searching for opportunities to score more goals. In the 60th minute, Anna Płaszczyk proved effective again, this time firing straight into an empty net. Although the opponents finally managed to fight back against the White Star's onrushing players a few dozen seconds later, it was to no avail, as the visitors refused to rest on their laurels. In the final minute of regulation time, after dribbling past three opponents and firing a shot into the near corner, Dominika Heryan sealed her team's victory, making the score 6-1.

"I'm happy to have advanced and won all our matches. Our goal was achieved. We proved with this match that we were undoubtedly the best team. I'd like to thank the girls for the entire season, for their dedication and work put into this advancement," said Wisła Kraków coach Mateusz Król.
