U-17: Lost clash with Łódź team

In the 5th round of the Central Junior League, the U-17 team hosted AKS SMS Łódź at home. Unfortunately, the Kraków team was forced to concede defeat to their opponents, losing 4-1 to the visitors. Milan Olej scored the goal for the White Star.

Wisła entered this match motivated to bounce back from last week's defeat to Wisła Płock, but ultimately the hosts failed to execute their winning plan. In the first half, the Kraków team struggled to shake off errors and easy turnovers, a fact that was evident to the well-disposed Łódź team, who beat the Wisła goalkeeper four times in just 20 minutes. Despite their efforts, Wisła failed to find a clear answer, and the teams went into the break with Łódź holding a significant lead.

After the break, the hosts launched a fight to turn the tide, but for a long time, their attacks and planned moves failed to yield the desired results. The home side continued to press their opponents, and three minutes before the end of regulation time, they finally let the Łódź defense down, scoring the only goal through Milan Oleja.

"The level at which we compete requires us to play with full commitment and to push ourselves to the limit in every position and at every moment of the game. We showed this in the second half, which significantly improved the quality of our play. In the first half, individual opportunities where we didn't take care of this were exploited by the opponent, and they scored those four goals too easily. We need to draw conclusions. We know there's no room for even a momentary drop in performance, and we strive to maintain our intensity as we did in the second half," said coach Patryk Jałocha.
