Kamil Broda: Happy with a clean sheet
During Friday's match against GKS Tychy, Kamil Broda returned to the starting lineup for Wisła Kraków, lining up between the posts for the White Star. Thanks to his confident performance, the team kept a clean sheet. After the final whistle, we spoke with the Wisła goalkeeper about his performance and how the match unfolded.
"The beginning of the match certainly didn't go as we had imagined," Kamil Broda began. "We lost some control, Tychy moved the ball well and took the initiative. After a few adjustments to our positioning and play, however, we started playing better and felt more confident with each passing minute," he continued. "The most important thing is that we played with zero pressure at the back. The guys in defense really worked hard, one behind the other. You could feel the support, the security, the communication on the pitch – everything was functioning at a very high level," he commented on Friday's match.
Kamil Broda returned to the starting eleven after a long absence and showed his excellent form against GKS Tychy. After the match, he made no secret of his joy at being back on the pitch and at the team's result. "I'm very happy with the performance, but even more so with the win. It was an incredibly difficult match, so I'm even happier with the clean sheet," emphasized the Wisła goalkeeper. "We'll move on and see what next week brings," Broda added optimistically.
The match wasn't the easiest, and Wisła's first half, in particular, was far from ideal. Tychy repeatedly created dangerous chances. What did Wisła lack, according to Kamil Brody? "Yes, the first half wasn't our best," he admitted. "Tychy dominated us in many moments. We lacked some control over the game, especially in midfield. We often lost the ball, and the home side had their chances. We made a few adjustments at halftime, both in our formation and approach to the game. After these changes, things started to look better, and in the second half we felt more confident on the pitch," he stated.
Next week, Wisła will face Stal Stalowa Wola at the R22. What are the plans for that match? "Mindset? Fighting," he replied. "We're already thinking about the next match. As I said in the locker room – full focus, recovery, good training, and we want to fight for another three points at the R22," he concluded.
