Bąk: We are starting our first week of work with the team
On Monday, January 22nd, Wisła Kraków's second team met for their first training session after the Christmas and New Year break. Bartosz Bąk's players will be honing their form during the preseason at the ORLEN OIL Training Center in Myślenice, and will also play seven friendly matches. The first of these is this coming Saturday against MSK II Žilina of Slovakia.
The White Star reserve team began their preparation period for the upcoming spring round of the JAKO IV League on Monday. The players began the day with a briefing with the coaching staff, then participated in a gym session, before moving on to on-field training.
"We're starting our first week of work with the team, so we're committed to conducting tests with the players in this initial phase. Today, we spent part of the training session in the gym, testing the boys' motor skills and also checking the aspects they've been developing while preparing according to individual schedules and during online training. On the pitch, we focused today on activation and familiarization with the ball. It's important to note that we're actually working with three groups of players – the first group was included in training with the White Star senior team, so they're already in their training rhythm; the second group consists of players who trained with the U-19 team and have already played a friendly against BKS Bochnia; and the third group consists of players who previously worked part-time," said coach Bartosz Bąk.
Seventeen players participated in the first training session under new coach Bartosz Bąk, who replaced Mariusz Jop. Missing were Mariusz Kutwa and Karol Tokarczyk, who were included in the first-team squad for the camp in Belek, Turkey.
"We have a few absentees, including, of course, players who went to camp with the first team in Belek. Kuba Wiśniewski was also absent from training, but he will join us tomorrow. Michał Zimon and Mateusz Stanek are working individually with a motor preparation coach and physiotherapists because they have minor injuries that need to be fully recovered," added the coach. For the next few weeks, the White Star's second team will train on-site at the facilities in Myślenice.
Bartosz Bąk's side also plan to play seven friendly matches. Their form will be tested by teams including the second team of MSK Žilina (Slovakia), the reserves of Bruk-Bet Termalika Nieciecza, Alit Ożarów, and Wiślanie Jaśkowice. The first test will take place this coming Saturday, January 27th, against the Slovak team.
"On the second day, we've planned to continue testing players. Tomorrow, more players will join us for training. We also hope that we'll be able to finalize the details regarding the players being tested soon, and that they'll be able to join us within a week. As for the training sessions, this micro-cycle is an introductory one, where we're trying to gradually introduce the workload, so it's not that heavy yet. This is more of a standard procedure when starting preparations. On Saturday, we'll play our first friendly against MSK Žilina, which will provide us with material for analysis and highlight areas that require further work," the coach stated.
Wisła's second-place team will resume their league campaign on March 16th with a home match against Watra Białka Tatrzańska. Wisła currently sits at the top of the JAKO IV League after the autumn round with 45 points. Second-place Orzeł Ryczów, meanwhile, has collected six points fewer.
