Wisła Kraków awarded the "Club Without Barriers" statuette
Wisła Kraków has been honored with the prestigious Club Without Barriers statuette, a distinction awarded to football clubs for exceptional efforts to promote accessibility, integration, and equal opportunities for fans with disabilities. This is special recognition of the work that the Club, its employees, and the FORBG Foundation do every day to ensure that the stadium on Reymonta Street is open to all White Star fans, regardless of their disability.
The award is presented as part of a nationwide campaign organized by the Federation of Disabled Fans (FKN) and the Polish Football Association, which have been promoting openness and accessibility of sports facilities for years. The initiative aims to reinforce the idea that football is a thrill that should be accessible to everyone, both able-bodied fans and those with mobility or sensory limitations. This latest installment of the campaign emphasizes that sport should unite, and that a stadium should be a welcoming, safe, and barrier-free space.
As part of this year's edition, clubs across Poland have undertaken a number of activities to promote accessibility, such as inviting groups of fans with disabilities to matches, organising audio description for the blind, and providing additional facilities to facilitate movement and use of stadium infrastructure.
It's worth emphasizing that earning the "Club Without Barriers" award is no easy feat. The certification process involved a detailed assessment of numerous aspects, from fan service standards and infrastructure to educational activities and promotion of accessibility. This year, only eight clubs across Poland received the distinction, demonstrating the high standards that must be met.
We are all the more pleased that Wisła Kraków has once again confirmed that it is a club that is open, socially engaged and ready to take real action for the benefit of its fans.
Congratulations to the entire Wisła community and thank you for working together to build the stadium as a place accessible to everyone!
