They're back to work! The reserve team has begun preparations for the spring season.
The White Star reserve team has returned to work after the winter break. On Tuesday, January 7th, the White Star players and their coaching staff returned to the Training Center in Myślenice, where they will continue their preparations for the spring competition in the coming weeks.
The first match after the winter break in competitions and training began promptly at 1:00 PM. First, the players and their staff participated in a briefing, and then they underwent anthropometric measurements. This training session concluded with speed tests conducted in the arena. In the coming days, the coaches will continue to monitor their players' performance, with the young players participating in endurance and power tests, as well as on-field exercises.
"The first week will be an introductory one. We want to gradually increase the players' training load, but before that happens, we need to test them in terms of motor skills," commented Wisła coach Aleksandr Mikhailov.
Twenty-five players participated in the first training session. Among them were players who joined the reserves from the U-19 team: Maciej Pachel, Michał Prochwicz, Alex Bugaj, Maksym Tsymbaliuk, Dawid Gap, Szymon Kawała, as well as Jakub Madej, Marcin Górkiewicz, Radosław Skała, Arkadiusz Ziarko, Kuba Wiśniewski, Michał Bierzało, Danylo Boiko, Filip Gryglak, Michał Zimon, Kamil Kaczówka, Wiktor Szywacz, Yehor Khromykh, Karol Tokarczyk, Marcin Bartoń, Dominik Sarga, and Kacper Chełmecki. Sławomir Chmiel, Patryk Moskiewicz, and Mateusz Stanek also completed individual training sessions with a physiotherapist.
"We currently have two injured players who still require individual attention. We hope that Sławomir Chmiel will soon return to training with the team, but Patryk Moskiewicz's situation still requires consultation, so we cannot provide details. Mateusz Stanek, on the other hand, participated in training with a physiotherapist today due to an illness," the coach added.
Three players were missing from the training camp, as they are currently undergoing trials with other Polish clubs. Bartłomiej Sowa is undergoing trials with Unia Tarnów, Karol Sałamaj is currently undergoing trials with MKS Karkonosze Jelenia Góra, and Jakub Złoch is training with Noteć Czarnków.
Even before the start of preseason training, significant changes were made to the coaching staff. Mateusz Fortuna, who previously worked with the White Star's young U-19 and U-17 teams, was appointed as the physical conditioning coach. He will replace coach Karol Baran and will combine this role with the reserves and the U-19 team.

The White Star players will be implementing their training plan in the coming weeks, and will test their progress during friendly matches. Wisła's second team will play six friendly matches, facing rivals such as Wieczysta Kraków, LKS Goczałkowice Zdrój, Kalwarianka Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, MKF Karvina B, Sparta Kazimierza Wielka, and Wisłoka Dębica.
