Important victories in the PZU Amp Futbol Ekstraklasa
This past weekend, the 4th PZU Amp Futbol Ekstraklasa Tournament took place at the Prądniczanka Stadium in Kraków. Wisła Kraków performed exceptionally well, recording a perfect four-game winning streak and strengthening their lead at the top of the league table. It's time to summarize these matches.
Saturday's struggles…
For Wisła Kraków, the tournament began with a match against Radomiak Radom. The White Star was considered the clear favorite to win, which proved true. The underweight Radom team posed no major problem for the Wawel team, which was reflected in the result. Krystian Kapłon scored the first goal in the opening act, and then Kamil Grygiel added four more within a few moments. The match ended after less than ten minutes with the score 5-0 in favor of Wisła, as a Radomiak player called in sick, and due to a shortage of players on the pitch, the match had to be abandoned, leaving Wisła to collect another set of points.
The next match was a blockbuster match against Podbeskidzie Bulletproof Bielsko-Biała. This match pitted two teams at the top of the league table, so the stakes were high. The match was played at a high intensity, with both teams looking for a goal to give them some peace of mind, but it was Wisła that finally found the back of the net. In the sixth minute, Kamil Grygiel headed the ball into Podbeskidzie's goal, bringing joy to the fans in the stands. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, and the Kraków team could celebrate another crucial victory.
Finally, two victories
Wisła's team began Sunday's efforts in good spirits, following their victories the previous day. A thrilling clash with Legia Warsaw awaited them from the start. Matches between these two teams always generate plenty of excitement, primarily because both the White Star and the team from the capital are incredibly experienced teams with a wealth of fantastic players. The match started off well for the team from Wawel, as David Mendes put Wisła ahead in the first minute, boosting their confidence. The next goals didn't take much longer, as Krystian Kapłon extended the lead in the sixth minute. Olaf Tokarski, one of Wisła's younger players, scored to make it 3-0. The final touch, however, was the aforementioned Kamil Grygiel.
The final match of the tournament was against Warta Poznań. Wisła also performed very well in this match, although they had to wait until the 10th minute for the first goal. Kamil Grygiel scored the winner. Eleven minutes later, Krystian Kapłon extended his team's lead, and Jakub Kożuch had the final say, making it 3-0 in the 29th minute. This meant that the White Star had played four league matches, won them all, and didn't concede a single goal!
