U-19: defeat in Białystok
Wisła Kraków U-19's winning streak in the Central Junior League came to a halt at four matches. In their final away match of the year, coach Karol Nędza's side were forced to concede superiority to Jagiellonia Białystok, losing 2-0.
The White Star's senior juniors had a score to settle with the team from the capital of Podlasie. Jagiellonia comfortably won 4-0 in Myślenice in the season opener, but now they've proven they've got the knack for taking on Wisła Kraków.
The hosts took the lead just before halftime when Jakub Moćkun scored, headed into Wiktor Sierda's goal. Bartosz Mazurek added his second goal eight minutes after the break. The White Star players were unable to turn the tables, suffering their fifth defeat of the season.
"The team that was better prepared in this match won. We weren't at our best in this match. In the first half, we weren't able to reach the level of quality that our team is capable of achieving. In the second half, we tried to turn the game around and fight with great determination. However, it didn't work," concluded U-19 coach Karol Nędza.
After 16 rounds, Wisła Kraków sits second in the league with 31 points (10 wins, one draw, and five losses). In their final match before the winter break, Wisła will host Cracovia in a derby. The match in Myślenice is scheduled for Saturday, November 30th at 11:00 AM.
