U-17: A squeaky win against Zagłębie

On Saturday, the U-17 team played another friendly match, this time visiting Myślenice against Zagłębie Sosnowiec. Their opponents presented a challenging environment, but in the end, the "White Star" emerged victorious.

Zagłębie started the match aggressively, pressing Wisła heavily from the outset. However, the hosts successfully repelled the Sosnowiec attacks. As the minutes ticked by, coach Jałocha's men began to assert themselves, launching effective counterattacks, but they still lacked precision in front of goal. Milan Olej was particularly active, firing two shots from outside the penalty area. The match truly opened up towards the end of the first half, but both goalkeepers remained vigilant. Zagłębie responded to Wisła's two good chances with a solo effort from their winger, but Jakub Kowalski made a conscious save.

A tough but victorious second half

After the break, the visiting team began to dominate, but Miłosz Frost made a brilliant save. The goalkeeper parried the ball for a corner, which allowed Zagłębie to fire another shot, this time off target. Moments later, Wisła's opponents had another opportunity, but the visiting winger squandered a one-on-one opportunity. Wisła responded with a shot that hit the post, but Sosnowiec remained in control. In the 73rd minute, after a mix-up in Wisła's penalty area, the referee awarded Zagłębie a penalty. Miłosz Frost once again dominated the Sosnowiec side, saving the penalty. In the following minutes, the red, green, and whites continued their offensive, and the breakthrough came in the 89th minute, when Alan Bąk connected with Tomasz Durlak's shot. Wisła had two more chances to add to their tally in the closing stages, but the score remained unchanged.
