U-17: Lost to Chorzów
The Wisła Kraków U-17 team has already faced its first footballing test in preparation for the spring half of the CLJ season. Despite their ambitious performance, the White Star was forced to concede superiority to their rivals from Chorzów, losing 2-4. Jakub Małek and Alan Bąk scored for the home side.
The first half began with intense play from both teams, each trying to take control of the pitch. Wisła attacked with ambition, but it was the visitors who demonstrated superior offensive effectiveness, opening the scoring in the 11th minute. The hosts struggled to create a clear-cut opportunity, with Oliwier Kozak having one of the better chances, taking a free kick in the 13th minute and sending the ball high over the crossbar. Ruch immediately picked up the pace and, shortly after the first goal, again disrupted Wisła's defense. In the 17th minute, the visitors attacked and extended their lead, and just a few dozen seconds later, the White Star goalkeeper had to pick the ball out of the net for the third time. Although the Kraków team remained motivated and patiently tried to close the gap, Chorzów were well-organized and put up a stiff resistance. In the 34th minute, Jakub Idziak shot powerfully from distance, which was saved by the Ruch goalkeeper, keeping the score at 3-0.
Too little to win
After the break, both teams went on the attack, searching for scoring opportunities. Wisła improved their attacking play in the second half, creating several interesting moves, but Ruch defended well. Ultimately, the start of the period went better for the visitors again – in the 58th minute, they increased their lead, scoring a goal with a direct free kick that caught the Wisła goalkeeper off guard. Despite the unfavorable situation, the home side didn't lose their fighting spirit and pressed on consistently. In the 71st minute, the hosts finally found the back of the net, with Jakub Małek delivering a precise shot after a well-organized move, reducing the deficit to 1-4. The White Star players didn't give up, creating further chances late in the match. Seconds after White Star's first goal, Wiktor Maziarz shot from distance, but the ball flew just over the crossbar. Three minutes later, Wisła regained the initiative when Kacper Gut attacked from a free kick. The ball bounced off the wall and sailed towards the goal, but Ruch's goalkeeper managed to catch it, saving their team from conceding another goal. Just before the end of regulation time, Alan Bąk added a goal, reducing the deficit to 2-4.
