U-17: Victory against Olimpia

The U-17 team hosted Olimpia Elbląg on Saturday in the ninth round of the Central Junior League. Wisła put in a strong performance, securing all three points, defeating their opponents 3-2. Bruno Skoczek scored twice for Wisła, and Milan Olej added another.

Wisła maintained control of the game from the outset and executed well-organized attacks. The visitors played with a low defense for most of the match, attempting to steal possession and launch counterattacks, but ultimately, Olimpia failed to seriously threaten the goal guarded by Kacper Pisarek. It was a completely different story for Wisła, who quickly opened the scoring. After a through ball from Dawid Szczepaniak, the ball found its way to Mateusz Kania. The young player played it five meters out, where Bruno Skoczek found the ball and slotted it into the net. Shortly after, Wisła again gave their opponents a run for their money and extended their lead. A well-organized attack down the side of the pitch, involving Kacper Trznadel and Mateusz Kania, was capped by a shot from Milan Olej, who rattled the ball off the post and slotted home for a 2-0 victory. The rivals only managed to respond in the 44th minute, when the referee awarded a penalty to Olimpia, and the visitors took advantage of it.

A well-deserved victory

The second half saw no change in the pattern of play – Wisła's opponents continued to defend low, and it was the home team that dictated the game. Initially, the visitors had few opportunities to create a threat in the Wisła penalty area, but after a quick attack, they finally outwitted the White Star's defense, equalizing. The Kraków side then took control again, boldly pushing towards the Elbląg team's goal, but their finishing was lacking. The home side's efforts finally paid off, and Wisła secured the coveted three points. The goal was preceded by a good collaboration between Mateusz Kania and Kacper Trznadel in the far corner, after which the latter played the ball to the far post, where Bruno Skoczek headed it into the net.
