Heart on the pitch, but victory in the hands of the rival: #JAGWIS 1:0

Wisła Kraków failed to win the Polish Super Cup. In the match played at the PGE Narodowy Stadium, Jagiellonia Białystok proved more effective, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mika Villar. Despite numerous good chances and a strong performance, Wisła ultimately had to concede to their opponents.

From the first whistle, Wisła attacked, displaying immense determination and motivation to win the match. In the 5th minute, Angel Baena fired a powerful shot at the Jagiellonia goal, but goalkeeper Sławomir Abramowicz rose to the occasion. Moments later, Łukasz Zwoliński attempted to clear the ball, but his precision was lacking. The Kraków team continued to push forward – in the 7th minute, James Igbekeme opted for a direct free kick, forcing the opposing goalkeeper to intervene. Wisła's players exchanged passes efficiently and patiently sought further opportunities, but needed a little more precision to take the lead. In the 10th minute, Marko Poletanović and Olivier Sukiennicki came close to scoring. The former unleashed a dangerous header from a corner, but the Jagiellonia defender cleared the ball at the last moment. Sukiennicki tried twice more – his first shot was blocked, but the follow-up shot went wide. Despite Wisła's dominance in the opening minutes, it was Jagiellonia who managed to open the scoring. In the 13th minute, Miki Villar remained alert, slotting the ball into the net after one of his teammates' earlier shots had hit the post. It was a heavy blow for the Kraków side, who were left chasing the lead from that point on. However, Wisła didn't slow down. In the 26th minute, Marko Poletanović delivered a well-placed corner kick directly onto Wiktor Biedrzycki's head, but again, it was to no avail. Towards the end of the first half, Jagiellonia began to attack with increasing boldness. In the 35th minute, Miki Villar again threatened Wisła's goal, forcing Patryk Letkiewicz into a spectacular save. The Wisła goalkeeper was determined to prevent his team from conceding another goal. Just before halftime, Frederico Duarte came close to equalizing, taking advantage of a teammate's cross and heading home a shot. Sławomir Abramowicz again displayed his reflexes to maintain his team's lead.

Wisła's chances, Jagiellonia's victory

The second half saw continued good form and attacking efforts from Wisła Kraków. Alan Uryga could have equalized in the 47th minute, but his header sailed wide. A minute later, Olivier Sukiennicki tried again to beat Sławomir Abramowicz, but the Jagiellonia goalkeeper held his ground. The Kraków side were undeterred and patiently pressed forward with further attacks. In the 55th minute, Sukiennicki fired again, but the ball deflected off his opponent and went wide. Jagiellonia responded with a dangerous counterattack in the 62nd minute, and Letkiewicz made another excellent save. In the 63rd minute, Wisła narrowly missed the equalizer when Kacper Duda struck directly from a free kick, ultimately hitting the side netting. Moments later, it seemed the Kraków side would finally get their chance. In the 69th minute, Łukasz Zwoliński dribbled past the Jagiellonia goalkeeper, but Mateusz Skrzypczak cleared the ball from under his feet at the last moment. Wisła maintained their faith until the very end. In the 85th minute, Bartosz Jaroch crossed the ball into the penalty area, and Alan Uryga leaped highest, but his header again went wide. Kraków were ultimately forced to accept defeat, losing 1-0 to Jagiellonia Białystok.
