Cup competition in Jawiszowice. Reserves will fight for a quarterfinal spot
Wisła Kraków's reserves face another challenge on the cup trail. In the round of 16 of the Provincial Polish Cup, the White Star will face LKS Jawiszowice away – a team with which Wisła has a well-known history of league clashes. This time, however, the stakes won't be league points, but a spot in the quarterfinals of the prestigious competition.
Wisła II Kraków's path to the provincial level proved to be a winding one. In the November final of the Kraków sub-district, Wisła fought a thrilling battle against the reserves of Wieczysta Kraków. Although the match ended in a 1-2 defeat, Wisła ultimately qualified for the next stage of the competition. For the players, coached by Karol Nędza, the upcoming match is an opportunity to prove they deserved a place among the best teams in the province.
The opponent won't be easy, however. LKS Jawiszowice is a top team in the fourth league, with a successful history of regional cup appearances. In the Oświęcim sub-district final, the team showed its full potential, defeating Niwa Nowa Wieś 6-1. The match, played on a neutral pitch in Zator, was a showcase for the Jawiszowice team's strength.
This clash promises to be an incredibly fierce contest, with neither side willing to give up without a fight. Both teams will enter the match with immense determination and a desire to show their best – Wisła II Kraków will be looking to prove their worth against a demanding opponent, while LKS Jawiszowice will be looking to prove they're no accident at this stage of the competition. Emotions will certainly be high, and fans can expect a match brimming with commitment, intensity, and a fight for every inch of the pitch.
The referee's first whistle will sound promptly at 5:00 p.m.
