Wisła matches even more accessible, i.e. audio description at R22
This Thursday, during the match between Wisła and Miedź Legia at the stadium on Reymonta Street, a special audio description broadcast by the "Nie Widząc Obstacles" Foundation will be available again.
Audio description commentary is primarily intended for people with visual impairments, but simply put, it can be compared to a radio broadcast. The commentator uses his words to build a picture of what's happening in the stadium. "A fan who is completely blind or has limited vision can 'see' what's happening on the pitch, making it even more accessible for them to participate in a football match," said Piotr Niesyczyński, board member of the "Nie Widzując Obstacles" foundation.
"There's no denying that a lot of Wisła Kraków Blind Football players attend White Star matches. Until now, we often had to rely on commentary from our sighted colleagues. Now, every fan at the stadium—and I'll emphasize this again, everyone, as our coverage isn't aimed exclusively at those with vision problems—can hear the commentator's coverage using a small radio and a set of headphones, tuning to 91.3 FM. We first observed this system at matches of the Polish national team. As a Foundation, we decided to try implementing this system in Krakow. Trial tests took place at the match against Stal Rzeszów and were excellent. Anyone attending the #WISMIE match can bring a small radio and participate in our coverage," said Mateusz Krzyszkowski, a member of the Foundation's board.
"We know that Wisła matches are attended by many fans with disabilities. If you have any questions regarding our coverage, please contact us at [email protected] . We also have a limited number of radios. If a fan who is going to the match on Saturday and has a valid disability certificate would like to borrow one from us, please contact us by email," said Piotr Niesyczyński.
