How did the loanees perform? [REPORT]

The end of the autumn season and the break in league play is the perfect time to take stock of the achievements of the past half of the season. With everyone's attention focused primarily on the performances of first-team players, it's worth taking a look at the progress of those who have gone on loan to other teams in search of minutes.

Wisła Kraków is currently loaning out seven players . These are young players who see this as a chance to play regularly in senior football and gain valuable experience.

Goalkeepers:
Starting with the goalkeepers, two goalkeepers were loaned from Wisła Kraków - Arkadiusz Krzyżanowski (born 2004) and Patryk Letkiewicz (born 2005).

Before the start of the current season, Arkadiusz Krzyżanowski signed a contract with the White Star until June 30, 2024. The contract includes the option to extend for another season, which Arek will strive to earn during his loan spell at fourth-division club Dalin Myślenice. It's worth noting that this is no stranger to him, as he already played there for the spring round of the 2021/22 season. He has proven himself a very solid player this season. He has appeared in a total of 17 league matches, often deciding the outcome. During these matches, he played 1,525 minutes on the pitch and secured seven victories with the Myślenice team.

Statistics: 17 matches played, 1525 minutes played, 1 yellow card, 24 goals conceded and 3 clean sheets.

Patryk Letkiewicz, in search of playing time, decided to stay in Krakow and has been defending his place in the Wieczysta team this season. From the outset, the Żółto-Czarni coach made no secret of his desire to retain Patryk's role as their first-choice goalkeeper. It's safe to say that Letkiewicz has lived up to his expectations and has established himself in the starting lineup since mid-October. He logged 810 minutes of league action and kept four clean sheets, undoubtedly contributing to the team finishing the season as the third-division leader. In the Round of 32 of the Polish Cup, he even faced top-flight Piast Gliwice, playing the full 90 minutes and having to pick the ball out of the net four times. Such results against a much higher-ranked opponent are certainly not the most pleasant, but they offer the young player valuable experience that will pay off in the future.

Statistics:

10 matches played, 900 minutes played, no cards, 13 goals conceded and 4 clean sheets

Defenders:
Wisła's staff also decided to send two young defenders on loan - Kacper Skrobański (born 2004) and Arkadiusz Ziarko (born 2003).

Kacper Skrobański hasn't left the capital of Lesser Poland either, and is a regular in the third-division league for Wieczysta Kraków. It's worth noting that Kacper has already made several appearances for Wisła's first team, which is why he went on loan as a player with a certain amount of experience. He confirmed this with his quick adaptation to the new team, becoming a regular in the starting eleven and a mainstay in the central defense alongside Michał Pazdan. In an interview with Gazeta Krakowska, the former Polish international was full of positive words and praised his progress. In league matches, Skrobański played 1,030 minutes, receiving just two yellow cards.

Statistics: 13 matches played, 1031 minutes played, 2 yellow cards, no goals or assists

Arkadiusz Ziarko continues his loan spell at Stal Stalowa Wola, with whom he won promotion to the second division last year. Before the start of the current season, he extended his contract with the Kraków club until June 30, 2025. In an interview, he made no secret of his desire to earn a place in Wisła's starting lineup through his excellent performances on the pitch, thus earning him a return to his hometown of Kraków. This season, Ziarko has made 14 league appearances, including two in the Polish Cup. He was suspended twice in the league due to suspensions. Significantly, he has also scored two goals and provided two assists this season. His attacking qualities have not escaped the manager's notice, and he has frequently moved him up the ranks to the left midfield position.

Statistics: 16 matches played, 901 minutes played, 4 yellow cards, 1 red card, 2 goals and 2 assists

Midfielders/Forwards:
As many as three offensive players took advantage of the temporary transfer option – Kacper Chełmecki (born 2004), Piotr Starzyński (born 2004), and Mateusz Młyński (born 2001).

Kacper Chełmecki joined his teammate at Stal Stalowa Wola before the season and immediately secured his place in the squad, playing in every match so far. He played in 19 league matches and two rounds of the Polish Cup. This totaled 1,217 minutes of playing time, during which Kacper scored one goal and added three assists. Chełmecki proved to be a very versatile player, whose quality doesn't always show in the statistics. The coach often rotated his position, deploying him across the entire attacking line.

Statistics: 21 matches played, 1217 minutes played, 3 yellow cards, 1 goal and 3 assists

Piotr Starzyński decided to transfer this summer and try his hand at Górnik Łęczna. He was convinced to choose this direction by the team's vision, which gives him ample room to develop his individual skills. After a back injury suffered during pre-season, Starzyński returned to action in the third round and has been a regular in the top division ever since. Górnik started the league season with a bang, at one point even topping the table, which earned them direct promotion to the Ekstraklasa. However, the Łęczna team suffered a dip in form, which Wisła Kraków capitalized on, defeating them 4-0 in Round 18. Starzyński played 990 minutes in the league, scoring two goals and providing one assist. In the Polish Cup, he also made an hour-long appearance against Cracovia, which ended in a 3-4 defeat.

Statistics: 15 matches played, 1054 minutes played, 2 yellow cards, 2 goals and 1 assist

Mateusz Młyński
, who rounds out the list, also went on loan to Górnik Łęczna. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the chance to showcase his skills yet. In early September, during training, he suffered a foot injury that sidelined him for virtually the entire fall season. He didn't make his debut until the last match before the Christmas break, coming on for the final half-hour against Arka Gdynia.

Statistics: 1 match played, 29 minutes, no cards, no goals or assists.
