The BookStadion project has returned to R22
During Friday's #WISODR match, we hosted representatives of the BookStadion project from the Book Institute at R22, who prepared plenty of attractions for the youngest fans.
BookStadion is a football-inspired project of the Book Institute, whose aim is to promote reading among children and young people. To reach young people even more honestly, they invited coaches from football schools, professional footballers, and the largest clubs in Poland to join them in joint activities, demonstrating the power of football stories with a literary twist.
They organize reading workshops, activities, and competitions, discuss sporting values with young football enthusiasts, and explore bestselling books about top players. Using player biographies and interviews with football icons, they introduce aspiring players to the joy of reading.
Promoting reading through sport among children and young people is effective and brings tangible benefits – it helps them acquire knowledge, fosters integration, and brings joy. This is demonstrated by initiatives successfully implemented for years in the UK, Germany, Sweden, and Malta.
There were also workshops for the youngest from the Wisła Kraków Football Academy, as well as a unique live show with Paweł Skóra – World, European, and Polish Freestyle Football Champion. During the match against Odra Opole, we also provided fans with reading attractions in the form of numerous competitions and activities, and above all, a good dose of literature!
The project is implemented with funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
