Mikhailov: We could have changed the course of this match
The White Star team faced off in another league match on Saturday, this time against Wisłoka Dębica. Unfortunately, the Kraków team was forced to concede the superiority of their opponents, losing 2-3. Coach Aleksandr Mikhailov assessed the match.
Wisła attempted to control the game and create a threat in front of the visitors' goal, but their opponents also showed no signs of giving up. Ultimately, it was the Dębica team that proved more effective, scoring three goals, to which the Kraków team only managed two. How did coach Aleksandr Mikhailov assess his team's performance?
"Our possession game in the second half was definitely a plus. Our main mental principle is patience, and the players showed it in the second half. Of course, when the opponent was already 3-1 up, we had to speed up the game, but with the score at 2-1, we patiently built up the play, created chances, and had a lot of set pieces. I think if we had scored earlier and made it 2-2, we could have changed the course of the match. I must admit that determination and responsibility are more important to me than tactical principles. In these aspects, the opponent was better today. They fairly scored one more goal than us, thus securing the three points."
The coach also commented on the game played by his players:
"We played better today than the final score shows. At halftime I told the boys that our understanding of the ball and our skills are better, but we need to add to that, as I mentioned earlier, determination, commitment, and responsibility. We simply have to live the game."
