Time for the quarterfinals: Wisła - Stal Rzeszów 4:1
Wisła Kraków, led by coach Mariusz Jop, reached the quarter-finals of the Polish Cup. The White Star defeated Stal Rzeszów 4-1 with goals from Szot, Rodado, Talar, and Gogół.
The R22 team started the cup clash strongly, opening the scoring in the 7th minute. Dawid Szot scored with a low shot that beat former Wisła player Gerard Bieszczad. The White Star's strong defensive positioning prevented the visiting team from breaking through.
Stal's penalty area was more active, with coach Jop's players showing more confidence, but lacking in effectiveness. Alfaro, Goku, and Rodado, among others, all had their chances, potentially scoring another goal for the home side. However, it took until the second half for any goals to materialize.
For good measure after the break
The second half saw Wisła dominate. In the 50th minute, Baena headed a shot over Rodado, who doubled the score. Moments later, Talar capitalized on Stal's mistake, intercepting the ball and firing a low shot to give the Kraków team their third goal.
The 66th minute saw the Rzeszów team score, and Kądziołka was recorded on the referee's scoresheet. However, the final say belonged to the R22 players, as Patryk Gogół beat the opposing goalkeeper with a powerful shot.
