Biedrzycki: I admit my mistake
Wiktor Biedrzycki didn't exactly dream of making his debut for Wisła Kraków, receiving a red card in the 57th minute. From that point on, his teammates were forced to make do with a man down, and the match against Polonia Warsaw ended in a 0-0 draw.
"I made a mistake, and I'm taking it personally. It shouldn't have happened to me, it was a bit of an unfortunate situation, but there's no point in making excuses. It happened, so I take it on my shoulders and admit my mistake," he began. "I felt pretty good. I think I looked pretty good until the red card, but unfortunately, in this position, it affects my performance and my grade will definitely go down," he added.
The draw with Polonia didn't please the Kraków team, who had hoped for a win in their first league match. "In every match, you have to be 100 percent focused in every situation, but everyone knows the specifics of this league. Polonia sat back, counted on counterattacks, closed down our midfield, and waited for a situation like the one that unfortunately occurred in the 57th minute. We definitely need to be more focused, because things like this can't happen to us," he analyzed.
For Wiktor Biedrzycki, the #WISPOL match was an opportunity to show his talent from the start. "I was definitely a bit surprised, as I've only been in the team for a week, but I also knew the coach would make a few changes. We play matches every three days and we have to rotate this lineup because we have a large squad and the coach wants to use it," he said.
On Thursday, the R22 team will play the return leg against Rapid Vienna, coming off a first-leg defeat. "We still have a chance; we only have one goal to make up. We're going there with the hope of advancing to the next round. We have nothing to lose. I think we'll attack and I hope we advance. Everyone in the team believes in that," concluded Wiktor Biedrzycki.
