History
The history of youth training at Wisła Kraków spans several stages. Its origins date back to 1987, when, at the initiative of Stanisław Chemicz, the TS Wisła Kraków Football School was established. The Sports Association continues to conduct training sessions and promote youth sports to this day. At the same time, Wisła Kraków SSA ran youth teams, overseen by Adam Nawałka. The future Polish national team coach served as youth training coordinator at the time, bringing many talented players to Wawel Castle, including Paweł and Piotr Brożek.
Following the merger of the youth teams of Wisła Kraków SA and the TS Wisła Kraków Football Academy, the Wisła Kraków Football Academy was established in early 2014, with the primary goal of training and nurturing young footballers. Year after year, youth training underwent structural changes, adapting to the increasing demands of professional football. The entire training system was systematically improved, aiming to improve the quality of training and, consequently, increase the number of alumni in the White Star's first team.
The Academy consistently achieved its goals, and the hard work of many individuals brought the desired results. Young players systematically climbed the ranks, making steady progress, a fact that didn't escape the attention of the first team's coaching staff. One of the main goals—playing in the Ekstraklasa—was achieved by young players from the Wisła Academy, such as Patryk Plewka, Dawid Szot, Konrad Gruszkowski, Piotr Starzyński, Aleksander Buksa, and Daniel Hoyo-Kowalski, who made his first appearance at this level at the age of 15 years and 287 days, making him the youngest debutant in Wisła Kraków's history. Olek Buksa also made Wisła history, scoring a goal in an away match against Jagiellonia Białystok a few months after his official debut, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Reymont club.
