Ziarko: We have to forget about this meeting as soon as possible
The White Star reserve team faced Avia Świdnik on Saturday afternoon in an away league match. The match certainly didn't go well for the Kraków team, who suffered a bitter defeat, losing 4-2. Wisła II Kraków player Arkadiusz Ziarko briefly summed up the match.
Coach Aleksander Mikhailov's side faced intense pressure from their opponents in the match against Avia, which they ultimately failed to overcome. Although Wisła scored twice through shots from Mateusz Młyński and Karol Sałamaj, it was the home side that proved more effective, beating Wisła's goalkeeper four times.
"From my perspective, the first half was even, but we started the second half poorly because we conceded the second goal too easily. We managed to score a goal quite quickly and had a great chance to equalize, but ultimately we missed the penalty. I think the match could have turned out completely differently if we had taken the penalty. It gave us a bit of a break, and our opponents capitalized on it and scored two more goals. We managed to score another goal in the final minutes, but the three points still stayed with Świdnik."
Wisła hasn't had an easy start to the third-division season and is still searching for stability, trying to pick up points. Their opponents aren't making this easy, as the Kraków team learned the hard way in Świdnik. What's the team's attitude ahead of their upcoming matches?
"It's common knowledge that defeat always hurts. Our opponents played well today and deservedly won. We need to forget this match as quickly as possible and focus on the next ones, especially the next one, and simply win it."
