#WISSTW Preview: Towards Victory!
On Friday, May 16th at 8:30 PM, Wisła Kraków will face Stal Stalowa Wola in the 33rd round of the Betclic 1st League at the Reymonta Stadium. This is another step in the fight for promotion to the Ekstraklasa for the White Star!
Wisła has been in excellent form in recent weeks. Coach Mariusz Jop's team has ten points from their last five matches. The Kraków team has won against GKS Tychy, Pogoń Siedlce, and Odra Opole, drawn with Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, and suffered their only home defeat against Wisła Płock.
Stal Stalowa Wola, on the other hand, continues to struggle. The most recent achievement for coach Marcin Płusek's side was a 3-2 away victory over Polonia Warszawa, and the visitors also defeated Ruch Chorzów earlier that season. Despite these successes, Stal has conceded numerous goals – after a significant 5-0 defeat to Znicz Pruszków and a one-goal defeat to ŁKS, they sit second from bottom in the table. Coach Jop emphasizes that their opponents won't be coming to Reymont to fight for a draw. Stal have players who are effective on counterattacks, but their defense often falters. It's Wisła's job to exploit these weaknesses and dominate the match.
As Wisła's coach noted, "there are no easy matches in any league... I don't think Stal will come to us as an easy opponent." At the same time, he emphasized the team's ambitions: "Our goal is still to win and finish as high as possible," as Wisła doesn't want to end the season prematurely. The coach's statements clearly show that the team is approaching this match extremely motivated – no wonder, every point they earn brings them closer to achieving their spring goals.
Only three points!
