Andrzej Sykta has died

We have some very sad news for Wisła Kraków fans. On Thursday, November 14th, a former outstanding player, who represented the club from 1959 to 1968, passed away at the age of 84.

Andrzej Sykta was born on September 9, 1940, in Kraków. He took his first steps in football with Nadwiślana, but it was with R22 that he truly blossomed. This talented and attacking player, sporting the white star, played 187 matches, scoring 40 goals. He and his teammates won the Polish Cup in 1967. He also made two appearances for the Polish national team.

After leaving Reymont, he continued his career with clubs such as Motor Lublin, AC Cambrai, and US Creteil. In later years, he was a football activist in the Małopolska Football Association.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, at 12:20 p.m. in the chapel at the Rakowicki Cemetery in Krakow.

May he rest in peace.
