#WISGKŁ: Victory in the rematch

Wisła Kraków secured a thrilling 1-0 victory over Górnik Łęczna in the 23rd round of the Betclic 1st League. Wiktor Biedrzycki scored the winning goal in the 75th minute.

Despite the heated atmosphere in the stands, Sunday's football action at R22 was initially relatively uneventful. Both teams cautiously tried to gauge their opponents, thus avoiding the risk of conceding an early goal. However, Wisła increasingly moved the ball closer to the visitors' penalty area with each passing minute. Duarte attempted a long-range shot, which narrowly missed Branislav Pindroch's post.

The Kraków team had a lot of shots, which the large crowd seemed to appreciate. The match clearly began to favor the White Star, and the opening goal seemed to be in the offing. However, Łęczna managed to endure the more difficult phase of the match and calm things down. After half an hour, the score remained 0-0.

In the 44th minute, Angel Rodado was centimeters away from the proverbial goal. Baena delivered a precise cross from the right flank, and our number nine headed it into the side netting. However, a defender cleared the ball off the goal line at the last moment, saving his team from a disappointing result. In the next move, Zwoliński found himself facing the Green and Black goalkeeper, this time with a shot that ultimately found the back of the net. The first half ended goalless.

From Hell to Heaven

The attacking Wisła team went on the attack after the break. The hosts moved almost their entire squad into Górnik's half, which could have exposed them to counterattacks. In the 53rd minute, the visitors demonstrated just such a quick drive towards the opposite goal, with Alan Uryga having to clear up a dangerous situation.

In the 60th minute, Patryk Letkiewicz unfortunately made a costly error outside the penalty area, earning him a red card. Kamil Broda came on between the posts to replace him, successfully saving a powerful free kick on the first opportunity. Coach Jop's team faced the daunting task of fighting for points with a shorthanded team, and the fans responded brilliantly, cheering on their favorite team even harder.

Wisła Kraków were by no means giving up on their pursuit of the full prize, and they were rewarded with a goal to make it 1-0. In the 75th minute, Wiktor Biedrzycki rose highest from a cross, giving the White Star a crucial lead. The Kraków side now faced long minutes of hard work in defense, as it was already clear that the match wouldn't end in regulation time due to the stoppage time.

That's exactly what happened, and the fourth official signaled a minimum of 10 minutes of added time. Visiting coach Pavol Stano brought on all his attacking substitutes, hoping to salvage at least a point. However, Wisła played brilliantly defensively and, as a team, never gave the impression of having one man down. The injury time was a true display of maturity from the players in red, and thanks to their dedication, all three points remain in Kraków today.
