Wisła II: A draw with Wisłoka
The White Star's second team played their final friendly before the start of the 2024/25 spring season. The hosts put in a strong performance, but ultimately each team scored one goal, ending the match in a draw. Marcin Bartoń scored the goal for the Kraków club.
From the outset, Wisła took the initiative in attack and quickly took control, launching the first attacks. Their attacking attitude was evident in dynamic moves, quick ball movements, and frequent attempts to break down the opposition's defense. As early as the 13th minute, after a move by Maciej Kuziemka, Kacper Chełmecki launched a low shot, but the Wisłoka defender successfully blocked it. Moments later, Yehor Khromykh tried again, but the visiting goalkeeper held his own. In the 19th minute, Wisła almost took the lead when Kamil Kaczówka passed a pass to Maciej Kuziemka. He hit the post, and the opposing goalkeeper saved the rebound. Despite numerous opportunities for the home side, the score remained unchanged, but the home side remained confident. The game became increasingly tense as the tempo remained high, and fouls were frequent on both sides. The Kraków team looked the better side, but it was the visitors who capitalized on their chances. In the 38th minute, after a foul by Kamil Kaczówka in the penalty area, the referee pointed to the penalty spot, and the Dębica player successfully converted the penalty.
Wisła's better form, but the match will end in a draw
After the break, the home side continued to press and looked for ways to break down Wisłoka's defense, trying to play with more combinations and utilize through passes. As early as the 46th minute, Szymon Kawała unleashed a dangerous shot, but the Wisłoka goalkeeper again made a good save. Michał Prochwicz had another chance in the 54th minute, heading a corner kick, but this time the ball sailed over the crossbar. Wisła's good form finally paid off. Fifteen minutes before the end of regulation time, after a perfect pass from Michał Zimon, Dawid Gap cut the ball back to Marcin Bartoń, who leveled the score with a confident shot. The Kraków team looked to push forward, and a chance arose moments later, but Mateusz Stanek failed to convert the penalty. Despite their strong play, Wisła still couldn't convert the victory. Both teams had their chances until the end of the match. In the 79th minute, Mateusz Stanek found himself face-to-face with the visiting goalkeeper, but once again the Wisłoka defender prevailed. In the 88th minute, Dominik Sarga could have secured Wisła the victory, but his shot went wide. Wisła fought for victory until the final moments, but Wisłoka's solid defense and their goalkeeper's prowess ensured the score remained unchanged.
