Victory won: #WISCHR 2:1
The match started with a cold start for Wisła Kraków and an early goal, but the White Star ultimately showed their fighting spirit. Following a stunning first-half goal from Ángel Baena and a decisive strike from Ángel Rodado after the break, Mariusz Jop's men defeated Chrobry Głogów 2-1.
Wisła set a high tempo from the opening minutes, trying to quickly take control of the pitch. Marko Poletanović came close to scoring in the fourth minute, but his free kick was blocked by the wall. The opening period belonged to the White Star, but the visitors from Głogów soon took the initiative. In the sixth minute, a disastrous defensive misunderstanding occurred – Wiktor Biedrzycki and Alan Uryga failed to connect on a through ball, which the visitors capitalized on. Patryk Letkiewicz stopped Mateusz Lewandowski in a one-on-one situation, but he was left with no chance on the rebound. Mateusz Ozimek passed the ball to Szymon Bartlewicz, who easily slotted the ball into the net. The goal clearly galvanized Chrobry, who began to frequent Wisła's half. For several minutes, the Kraków team struggled to find their rhythm, while their opponents effectively disrupted their attempts to create a play. The visitors began to stall for time early on, but Wisła weren't about to give up the points easily. In the 24th minute, Ángel Baena unleashed a solo run that culminated in a superb shot. His shot deflected off the crossbar and into the net, giving Wisła the equalizer. The situation benefited the Kraków side, who regained control of the match. Dangerous attempts by Frederico Duarte and Łukasz Zwoliński in the closing stages of the half failed to produce a second goal, but it was clear the game wasn't over yet.
After the break, the hosts launched an attack, motivated to tip the scales of victory in their favor. Jesús Alfaro's shot in the 52nd minute was a harbinger of things to come. Moments later, Chrobry responded with a dangerous cross, but Patryk Letkiewicz was once again alert. The key moment of the match arrived in the 61st minute. Paweł Lenarcik's error in the play was capitalized on by Marko Poletanović, and then, after his shot was blocked, by Ángel Rodado. The Spaniard got to the ball and fired a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area to give Wisła the lead! The hosts once again controlled the match, although there were some tense moments. The visitors continued to build up their attacks and create threats in front of the White Star's goal, but to no avail. In the 63rd minute, Mateusz Lewandowski came close to equalizing, but failed to finish. For the home side, Uryga, Jaroch, Rodado, and Alfaro all had chances to add to their tally. In stoppage time, the Głogów side looked to strike back at the home side. Letkiewicz was once again on the defensive, saving Hanc's powerful volley.
