Wisła II: A confident victory against Górnik
In the second friendly of the ongoing preseason, the White Star reserve team faced Górnik II Zabrze at home. The Kraków team put in a strong performance, comfortably defeating their opponents 6-1 thanks to three goals from Mateusz Stanek, two from Wiktor Szywacz, and a strike from Radosław Skała.
After a slight upset following their friendly loss to Rekord Bielsko-Biała, Wisła approached the match against Górnik's reserves eager to prove their mettle, putting their opponents under intense pressure from the outset. The Kraków team quickly took control and began to create dangerous chances, opening the scoring in the ninth minute when Maciej Kuziemka attempted to head the ball into the net, but Wiktor Szywacz ultimately capped Wisła's attack with a goal.
Moments later, the hosts again threatened the opposing goal. Wiktor Szywacz then routed a pass to the other side of the penalty area, where Mateusz Stanek was waiting, and extended his team's lead with a powerful shot. In the 21st minute, Szywacz again capitalized on a distraction from Górnik's defense, slotting the ball into the net for a 3-0 lead, but the display of skill didn't end there. A few minutes later, Wisła attacked again, fueled by Yehor Khromykh, who finally slotted the ball to the better-positioned Mateusz Stanek, who placed a perfect foot on the ball, completing his hat-trick.
The locals effortlessly built up a series of well-organized attacks, keeping their opponents from gaining a foothold. The Krakow team showed no mercy, finding the back of the net for the fifth time before halftime thanks to another goal from Wiktor Szywacz.
The hosts are in good form
The White Star team made several changes at halftime, and with the referee's first whistle, Bartosz Bąk's team pushed with renewed energy to increase the score. The visitors began to assert themselves more frequently in this period, but initially failed to respond effectively. The home side also showed no signs of lacking motivation, putting even more pressure on Górnik's players, scoring their sixth goal.
In the 59th minute, the hosts won a free kick, and Radosław Skała finished the set piece with a shot, assisted by Dominik Sarga. A few minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty to the visitors, which earned them a consolation goal. The White Star continued to put in numerous attempts for the remainder of the match, while their opponents continued to bring out their biggest guns in an attempt to reduce the advantage, but neither team's efforts yielded the desired results, and the match ended in a resounding 6-1 victory for Wisła.
