Wiktor Szywacz with a new contract

Wiktor Szywacz has signed a new contract with Wisła Kraków until June 2026, with the option to extend it for another season. The 21-year-old White Star alumnus has made a total of 15 appearances for the first team, and in recent months has been a mainstay of the Reymont second team.

Wiktor Szywacz was born on June 6, 2002, and joined Wisła Kraków during recruitment at the age of six. He then progressed through the ranks of the Wisła academy, and in 2015 was named Player of the Season. He successfully represented the White Star in the Central Junior League, where he and his teammates won the Małopolska Junior, Senior, and Junior championships.

The young midfielder's solid performance resulted in the opportunity to train with the White Star's first team, and finally, his debut in the match against Resovia Rzeszów on July 22, 2022. In total, the 21-year-old played 15 matches for the Reymont first team (13 in the Fortuna I league and two in the Fortuna Polish Cup), in which he scored one goal - in a cup match against Legia Warsaw's reserves.

"I'm very pleased that Wiktor and I have reached an agreement and can announce a contract extension. Wiktor has been with our club for 16 years, and it's also encouraging that a player who has completed the entire training process has now decided to sign another contract. I deeply believe this will pay off for both the club and the player. Wiktor is still close to the first team. Now we have a new coach, and everything remains in his head and legs. I deeply believe that he will prove his worth and break into the first team," emphasized Krzysztof Kołaczyk, director of the Wisła Kraków Football Academy.

In recent weeks, Szywacz has been one of the standout players for the White Star's second team, which is currently top of the JAKO IV League after the fall season. The 21-year-old has recorded five goals and nine assists.

"I'm very happy that I managed to extend my contract with my beloved club. It's a source of pride for both me and my entire family. Wisła has always been and is my priority; I always put it first. I've been at the club for 16 years, and when I came to my first training session, I would never have thought my life would turn out this way. When I play for the second team, I leave my heart and soul on the pitch. However, I would like to return to the first team permanently and help them achieve promotion to the Ekstraklasa," said Wiktor Szywacz shortly after signing his new contract with Wisła.
