Wisła II: A sure advancement in the Polish Cup

On Wednesday, the White Star's second team faced Wanda Kraków in the District Polish Cup. Wisła won 4-1, securing a spot in the semifinals. Karol Tokarczyk (two goals), Yehor Khromykh, and Marcin Bartoń shared the scoring.

The hosts approached the match with ambition against the third-division side and bravely resisted the attacks of coach Bartosz Bąk's men. In the 26th minute, Wisła finally managed to break Wanda's defense. After a mistake by the home center-back, Yehor Kromykh found the ball in the penalty area and beat the helpless goalkeeper. Three minutes later, Karol Tokarczyk doubled the lead after a through ball from Sławomir Chmiel. The two-goal lead remained until halftime.

After the break, coach Bartosz Bąk made several changes, particularly the introduction of Maksym Tsymbaliuk, who was making his senior debut. Wisła remained the dominant side and quickly increased the score to 3-0 after the break, with Karol Tokarczyk scoring for the second time. Wanda attempted to respond on counterattacks and from set pieces. In the 67th minute, the hosts secured their victory, scoring a goal to make it 3-1 from a corner.

The goal gave the home team a boost, and although they came close to scoring after a bit of confusion in the penalty area, the ball fortunately went just wide of Zagórowski's goal. In the 83rd minute, Wisła closed the game out, with the home goalkeeper managing to parry the first shot, but Marcin Bartoń's rebound left him with no chance.

Coach Bartosz Bąk's players confidently defeated their lower-ranked opponent and will have the opportunity to play in the semi-finals of the District Polish Cup.
