Wisła II Kraków loses in Starachowice
Wisła Kraków's reserves played their sixth round of the Betclic III League on Saturday, facing Star Starachowice away. The White Star started the match well, creating several early scoring opportunities and managing to take the lead, but as the game wore on, the home side proved more effective, turning the tables and winning 4-2. Wiktor Staszak scored both goals for the Reymont team.
From the outset, the visitors from Krakow tried to impose their style of play, exchanging possession in midfield and attempting to break through the opposition's defense. Dawid Olejarka came close to winning the game in the seventh minute, bursting into the penalty area and firing a shot that missed the post by just a few dozen centimeters. Moments later, the referee awarded a penalty kick to the home side, which could have significantly changed the course of the match, but a brilliant save by Dawid Krysa stopped the shot from eleven meters and gave the White Star a further boost. This moment seemed to give Wisła confidence, as they took the lead less than fifteen minutes later. Wiktor Szywacz spotted the well-positioned Wiktor Staszak and played the ball precisely, who slotted the ball into the net with a loose first-time shot. The joy was short-lived, however. In the 34th minute, after a tentative exit from the goalkeeper, the referee again called for the penalty. This time, the Star player capitalized on the opportunity and equalized. The hosts followed up the attack and three minutes later, after a well-organized offensive action, they took the lead, going to the locker room with a favorable score of 2:1.
After the break, Wisła II attempted to turn the tide. From the restart, play was mostly confined to the home side's half, with the Kraków team creating several good chances. Karol Tokarczyk opted for a long-range shot, and then Kamil Kaczówka attempted to head home a cross from the outside. On both occasions, the ball fell just inches short of finding the back of the net. Instead of equalizing, however, the visitors received a painful response. In the 53rd minute, Szymon Stanisławski capitalized on his chance to make it 3-1, and just a few minutes later, the home side added a fourth, effectively sealing the outcome. Despite the unfavorable scoreline, the Kraków team kept their heads high and continued to search for the back of the net. Their attempts proved fruitless for a while, but Wiktor Staszak once again excelled in stoppage time, scoring his second goal of the match.
