Wisła II: Painful defeat in Kielce

Coach Bartosz Bąk's side traveled to Kielce on Wednesday to face second-placed Korona in the fourth round of the Betclic III League. The match certainly didn't go well for the Kraków team, who were forced to concede superiority to their opponents, losing 1-4. Karol Tokarczyk scored the goal for Wisła.

The Kraków team approached Wednesday's clash with the Kielce team eager to break their winless streak, but from the outset, the hosts dominated the pitch. The locals immediately went on the attack, storming the visiting team's goal, causing significant problems for the White Star defenders. The visitors struggled to cope with the Korona pressure for a while, but finally took the lead in the 22nd minute when Sławomir Chmiel addressed a pass to Mateusz Młyński, who misplaced the ball, hitting a Korona player. The Kraków team continued to attack the opposing team's goal with a shot from Mateusz Młyński and a free kick from Wiktor Szywacz, but it was the hosts who proved their mettle in the 27th minute, exploiting Wisła's lack of defensive organization and slotting the ball into the net. The final quarter of the match was also marked by Korona players attempting to breach Wisła's defense and threatening shots on goal. The locals patiently exchanged passes, creating further scoring opportunities, and in the 35th minute, they again made things difficult for Wisła, scoring a second goal on target. Kielce tried again in the closing stages, but Piotr Zagórowski once again showed his reflexes. For Wisła, Sławomir Chmiel attempted to convert a chance to open the scoring just before halftime, but his shot was blocked.

Good disposition of the rivals

After the break, the visitors fought to break free from a disadvantageous situation, but once again it was the Kielce team that looked the better side. Immediately after the restart, they launched a dangerous attack that forced the White Star goalkeeper to intervene. Shortly after, the Kraków team revived the attack, with Mateusz Stanek attempting to cap it off with a header, but to no avail. Led by coach Bartosz Bąk, the players tirelessly sought a clear-cut opportunity, but Korona refused to give up, finding the back of the net for the third time in the 57th minute. Kraków finally achieved their goal exactly 10 minutes later, when Karol Tokarczyk, following a cross from Filip Baniowski, found the ball in the penalty area and placed a perfect shot, beating the Korona goalkeeper. However, Wisła's joy was short-lived, as just a few dozen seconds later, the locals beat Piotr Zagórowski, who was again forced to retrieve the ball from the net. Until the end of the match, the Kielce team launched further attacks, and in the 89th minute Patryk Moskiewicz received a red card for a foul, as a result of which the White Star team was forced to finish the match with a man down.
