Wisła II: Victory against Star Starachowice

The second-placed White Star team defeated Star Starachowice 3-1 at home in the 9th round of the Betclic III League. Igor Sapała, Patryk Moskiewicz and Karol Tokarczyk scored the goals for the Reymont team.

On Saturday afternoon, Wisła Kraków faced a considerable challenge against top-of-the-table Star Starachowice. The Kraków team boldly challenged their opponents from the very first moments of the match, taking the initiative and executing coherent attacks. They also quickly began to unleash dangerous shots on goal. Wiktor Szywacz was the first to challenge the Starachowice goalkeeper with a shot to the far post, and moments later, Maciej Kuziemka delivered a cross into the penalty area that hit the visiting player's head, only to have the ball fall to Kuba Wiśniewski, who fired wide. Maciej Kuziemka had one of the best chances for the home side in this period. In the 17th minute, Kuba Wiśniewski's cross was parried by the young player, who ultimately hit the crossbar with his knee. With each action, the locals put more and more pressure on their opponents, consistently striving to score the opening goal, but the players from Starachowice were not about to give up the field easily to the rushing Kraków team, trying to thwart their plans.

Wisła's chances were endless, however, as Dominik Sarga, in the 32nd minute, tried to capitalize on one of them. He, following a pass from Patryk Moskiewicz, fired the ball into the net, forcing the visiting goalkeeper to intervene. Igor Sapała attempted to finish, but his effort was insufficient. The remainder of the half belonged to the visitors. In the 43rd minute, the visitors found a way through Maciej Wolicki's goal, taking the lead just before the break.

Three goals and three points

Wisła entered the second half highly motivated to make up for lost time, and from the outset, they attempted to launch attacks. The home team's efforts paid off in the 52nd minute, when Igor Sapała displayed superb precision. He intercepted the ball from Kuba Wiśniewski and then fired a long-range shot, hitting the post and into the net. Less than ten minutes later, the first-time scorer delivered a cross from a corner kick into the penalty area to Patryk Moskiewicz, who slotted the ball into the net, extending Wisła's lead. The visitors also persisted, trying to overcome the pressure, but their attempts were unsuccessful. Karol Tokarczyk sealed the White Star's victory in stoppage time. The player broke into the penalty area with the ball and beat the visiting goalkeeper, making the score 3-1.
