Wisła II: Shooting Festival in Skała
The White Star's second team kicked off the cup campaign in the best possible way. In their first match, played in the 4th round of the MZPN Kraków Polish Cup, they crushed LKS Skała 2004 13-0 away! Goals were scored by Mateusz Stanek (3), Dominik Sarga (2), Wiktor Szywacz (k), Bartłomiej Sowa, Arkadiusz Ziarko, Karol Tokarczyk, Maciej Kuziemka, and Karol Sałamaj, with two additional own goals.
The visitors entered the match as favorites and controlled the game from the outset. They opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a shot from Bartłomiej Sowa and an assist from Patryk Moskiewicz, officially kicking off the visitors' impressive display of skill. Another on-target goal came six minutes later, courtesy of Arkadiusz Ziarko, assisted by Karol Tokarczyk. Within seconds, the Kraków visitors created a chance that allowed them to extend their lead once again. Karol Sałamaj, the last White Star player with possession, then, with the help of a home player, slotted the ball into the net. But that wasn't the end of it! In the 25th minute, the referee blew the whistle for a foul on Filip Baniowski in the penalty area, awarding a penalty, and Wiktor Szywacz converted the set piece without hesitation. The aforementioned player showed excellent form and by the end of the match he had recorded two more assists - for Dominik Sarga's goal in the 35th minute and for Karol Tokarczyk's goal in the 41st minute.
The goal bag is solved!
The second half saw no change in the pattern of play, with the visitors continuing to dominate. Early in the match, fortune again smiled on Wisła Kraków – Karol Sałamaj was fouled in the penalty area, and Mateusz Stanek scored from the spot. The Kraków side continued their scoring spree. In the 58th minute, Dominik Sarga found the back of the net after a cross from Karol Sałamaj, while just a few dozen seconds later, Yehor Khromykh delivered a precise pass into the penalty area from a free kick, which Mateusz Stanek finished with a backheel. Shortly after, Maciej Kuziemka recovered the ball and fired a spectacular long-range shot, beating the opposing goalkeeper and scoring another goal for the White Star. Despite their commanding lead, the visitors continued to maintain their momentum and consistently capitalized on their opportunities. In the 72nd minute, Yehor Khromykh again struck a free-kick directly to Mateusz Stanek, who slotted the ball into the net. Moments later, after an exchange of passes in the penalty area, the locals found their own net for the second time. The sealing of the Kraków victory came in the 81st minute, when Mateusz Stanek crossed to Karol Sałamaj, who made it 13-0.
"I would like to thank my players for playing with full respect for each other, but also for the coaching staff and opponents," said White Star coach Bartosz Bąk after the match.
