Wisła II: No points against Korona II Kielce

In the 21st round of the Betclic III League, Wisła Kraków's reserve team hosted Korona Kielce's second-placed team at Prądniczanka Stadium. Although the White Star mounted an ambitious second-half push, scoring goals through Mariusz Kutwa and Dawid Szot, it was Kielce who ultimately triumphed 4-2.

From the referee's first whistle, the visitors from Kielce set a fast pace, demonstrating their attacking determination. In the opening minutes, they earned two set pieces near Wisła's penalty area, but Jakub Stępak, in the Kraków goal, remained alert and confidently intervened, preventing their opponents from taking an early lead. Wisła struggled to get into the opponent's penalty area. Kielce effectively closed down spaces and prevented free play. The hosts didn't create their first clear-cut opportunity until the 26th minute. Tamas Kiss delivered a precise pass into the penalty area to Michał Zimon, who fired a shot, but the ball ended up in the side netting. Wisła began to find their rhythm and moments later created another dangerous opportunity. Oliwier Sukiennicki broke into the penalty area and fired a powerful shot at Korona's goal. However, the goalkeeper managed to touch the ball with his fingertips, and it narrowly missed the post. Unfortunately, despite a brief improvement in the home side's play, it was the visitors who struck the first blow. In the 38th minute, Korona again had a free kick, this time from a more advantageous position. The cross found the head of one of the strikers, who capitalized on the defenders' hesitation and slotted the ball into the net with a precise shot. This goal gave the visitors even more motivation, a fact they confirmed just minutes later. In the 43rd minute, the Kielce team again threatened Stępak's goal – the Wisła goalkeeper saved his first shot, but was powerless against the rebound. The hosts went into the break with a two-goal deficit.

Brave Vistula, effective Korona

After the restart, Wisła's players tried to regain control, but Korona once again made the better start, and in the 51st minute, they once again showed their effectiveness, scoring a third goal. Despite the difficult situation, Wisła showed character and refused to give up. In the 65th minute, Tamas Kiss delivered a precise cross from a corner, and Mariusz Kutwa jumped highest in the penalty area and headed the ball into the net. This goal clearly spurred the hosts, who began to play with more courage and impetus. In the 73rd minute, Maciej Kuziemka put in a brilliant display, dynamically breaking through on the right wing. His cross into the box found Dawid Szot, who confidently scored a goal to make it 2-3. At that moment, it seemed Wisła might yet turn the game around. The visitors had a quick response when a Korona player faced a crucial opportunity, but Jakub Stępak made a brilliant save to save his team. Moments later, Wisła's goalkeeper was forced to intervene again in a one-on-one situation, but this time the Kielce team were more astute. The Korona player managed to lob the Wisła goalkeeper, leveling the score at 2-4.
