Wisła II: No points in Lubaczów
Wisła Kraków's reserves failed to secure a point in their away clash with Pogoń-Sokół Lubaczów. Although the match started promisingly for the Kraków side, the hosts ultimately triumphed 2-1, with Joseph Colley scoring the only goal for the White Star.
The match began with the Kraków side dictating the tempo from the first whistle and enjoying more possession. Wisła tried to quickly surprise their opponents – in the second minute, Karol Tokarczyk headed Dawid Gap's cross into the penalty area, but his shot narrowly missed. The visitors didn't stop, patiently searching for further opportunities. In the 10th minute, Bartosz Talar sent the ball into the penalty area, where Kacper Chełmecki intercepted it. However, the groundstroke failed to threaten the home team's goal. The following minutes saw Wisła continue to dominate, attempting to build attacks and searching for space in the penalty area. On one occasion, Chełmecki and Tokarczyk collided with opponents while trying to reach Maksim Tsymbaliuk's pass. The hosts failed to seriously threaten Jakub Stępak's goal in the first quarter of an hour. Things really got heated in the 18th minute, when a Pogoń-Sokół player launched a counterattack and briefly faced only the goalkeeper. However, Arkadiusz Ziarko managed to control the situation in time and made a save. Wisła didn't give up, and in the 27th minute, Chełmecki again came close. His close-range shot was blocked, and the rebound almost found the back of the net after a deflection off a defender. Another attempt – this time by Dawid Gap – ended in a successful save from the Lubaczów goalkeeper.
After the break, the hosts take the initiative
The second half began with a cold shower for Wisła. Just a few dozen seconds after the restart, Pogoń-Sokół took the lead. A corner kick found Mateusz Gul, who headed it goalward, and Paweł Oleksy finished the move, slotting it home from close range. After conceding a goal, the Kraków team went on the offensive, trying to quickly equalize. However, the hosts skillfully disrupted Wisła's attacks, slowing the tempo and searching for opportunities. In the 65th minute, Stępak's free kick was again a threat, and the Wisła goalkeeper confidently punched the ball away. In the 68th minute, the visitors finally got their way. Following a drop ball, Maksym Tsymbaliuk passed the ball to Kacper Chełmecki, who passed it to Joseph Colley. He remained calm and scored with a precise shot, giving the team hope for a positive result. The visitors' joy, however, was short-lived. In the 77th minute, the hosts took the lead again, and Paweł Oleksy was the hero once again. After another cross from deep, he found the right spot and headed past Stępak. Wisła continued to push for an equalizer in the closing stages, but the hosts defended wisely, preventing them from gaining any momentum. Furthermore, in the 88th minute, they came close to extending their lead when a Pogoń player carried the ball along the end line and fired a dangerous shot, but Stępak used his fingertips to deflect the ball, saving his team from another loss.
