Wisła II: Draw with Czarni Połaniec
In the 14th round of the Betclic III League, the White Star's second-place team hosted Czarni Połaniec at home. The match ended in a 3-3 draw, with Mateusz Młyński scoring all three goals for the home side.
After a resounding victory over Podhale Nowy Targ, Kraków approached the clash with Czarni Połaniec eager to continue their winning streak. The match started off promisingly for the home side, as seven seconds after a foul on Karol Tokarczyk, the Połaniec player received a red card, allowing the home side to dominate the entire match. The home side didn't have to wait long to react – in the ninth minute, Filip Baniowski crossed the ball into the penalty area for Mateusz Młyński, who headed the ball into the net with his left foot. Kraków's side struggled to keep up the momentum, but their opponents quickly found the balance and, after a throw-in and a header, equalized. From that point on, both teams battled for further chances, but Czarni Połaniec proved more consistent in their efforts, beating Kamil Broda for the second time. Wisła's players continued to fight back, and Patryk Moskiewicz, for example, had a chance when he tried to head the ball into the net after a Wiktor Szywacz cross, but the Połaniec goalkeeper prevailed. The visitors, however, had no problems with efficiency, and in the 26th minute they gave the Wisła goalkeeper a hard time for the third time, increasing their lead.
A jagged point
After the break, the hosts began to take the initiative again, spending most of the second half in their opponents' half. The Kraków team patiently exchanged passes, trying to create scoring opportunities, but for a prolonged period, they failed to seriously threaten the Połaniec team's goal. Finally, however, coach Aleksandr Mikhailov's men got their way when Mateusz Młyński scored for the second time in the 68th minute. Yehor Khromykh played a long pass to Patryk Moskiewicz, who then headed it to the scorer. Młyński received the ball with his chest and then fired it into the net with a close-range shot. Both Wisła and the Połaniec team persisted in their efforts to break down their opponents' defenses. Arkadiusz Ziarko, Karol Tokarczyk, and Dawid Gap all had chances for the home side, but Mateusz Młyński secured a point for the home side with a shot on the tape in stoppage time. The White Star player headed in Wiktor Szywacz's cross, leveling the score.
