Wisła wins the first Adam Musiał and Andrzej Iwan Memorial
A football celebration for young players took place last weekend on Dekerta Street. In a special match dedicated to Wisła Legends – Adam Musiał and Andrzej Iwan – the White Star won, and in the final one of the goals was scored by… the grandson of the outstanding defender, Oliwer Musiał.
Andrzej Iwan and Adam Musiał are figures who have made their mark on Wisła Kraków's history. Outstanding players, members of the Polish national team, World Championship medalists, and players with a strong character and a willingness to sacrifice.
The tournament is not only a great opportunity to test your football skills against domestic rivals, but also to get to know the club's legends better. The event was organized by the Wisła Kraków Academy, the 21 Football Academy, and the AJ Hearts Foundation, with the Wisła Historia Association as a partner, who assisted with the substantive preparations.
The U-10 teams participating in the Memorial included – in addition to Wisła Kraków – AP21, Banik Ostrava, Cracovia, Górnik Zabrze, Hutnik Kraków, ROW Rybnik, Wanda Kraków, Wieczysta Kraków, Wisła Kraków, Wisła Kraków London and Zagłębie Sosnowiec.
The group stages concluded with the quarterfinals, where Wisła faced Cracovia. The White Star gave their peers no chance, recording a 4-0 victory. In the semifinals, Banik defeated Hutnik 2-1, and Wisła defeated Zagłębie Sosnowiec 2-0.
The final was won—of course—by Wisła Kraków, who defeated Banik 2-0. The Legends' families were watching the action on the pitch, and some of them even showed up on the pitch! Tomasz Musiał and his son Oliwer were involved in the final match. Referee Tomasz Musiał officiated this crucial match as the referee, and his son scored one of the goals. The second was scored by Kamil Mrozowski.
Congratulations and we look forward to the next editions!
