Wisła II: Victorious sparring match against Sparta Kazimierz Wielki
Wisła Kraków's reserves played their fifth friendly match this winter and once again emerged victorious. This time, the White Star defeated fourth-division side Sparta Kazimierza Wielka 2-0 at home, displaying solid play, especially in the second half. Maciej Kuziemka and Kamil Kaczówka scored for the Kraków team.
A week earlier, Wisła Kraków faced Czech side MFK Karviná, winning 1-0. This time, they not only kept another clean sheet but also demonstrated improved offensive effectiveness, which is cause for optimism ahead of their upcoming matches.
From the opening minutes, the pace of play was high, with both teams actively searching for opportunities to threaten their opponents' goal. Wisła attempted to seize the initiative, but Sparta effectively repelled their attacks and created dangerous chances in the hosts' penalty area. Although Wisła had more possession, the visitors proved more focused. Sparta created several chances, one of the best coming in the 20th minute, when a shot from a tight angle found Wisła off the post. The hosts had their only real chance to threaten the visitors three minutes later, when Kacper Chełmecki burst into the penalty area and took a shot, but the ball sailed high over the crossbar. For the remainder of the first half, both teams sought to break down the opposing defense, but Sparta was the side that forced Jakub Stępak into action more often. Wisła, however, was unable to find a way to break down their opponents' tight defense, and their offensive efforts were quickly suppressed by the opponent.
Good game organization and victory
After the break, Wisła significantly stepped up the pace and took the lead in a flash. Just a few dozen seconds into the half, Maciej Kuziemka took advantage of a pass from Szymon Kawała and confidently fired the ball into the net. The visitors weren't about to give Wisła away easily and tried to respond quickly, but Jakub Stępak bravely came out of goal and made a superb save, saving a dangerous shot from one of their opponents. Wisła gained momentum with each passing minute, forcing Sparta into a deep defense and forcing them to defend. The Krakow team confidently marched towards victory, and in the 69th minute, they again gave the opposition a hard time. Yehor Khromykh delivered a precise cross from a corner, and Kamil Kaczówka then headed the ball perfectly past the visiting goalkeeper. Wisła didn't slow down for the remainder of the match, looking to capitalize on further opportunities. Among those who came close to scoring were: Maksym Tsymbaliuk and Marcin Bartoń, but to no avail. Just before the end of regulation time, Michał Prochwicz broke into the visitors' penalty area and unleashed a dangerous shot, but this time the Kazimierza Wielka goalkeeper was unstoppable.
