Wisła II: Victory over Termalica
The White Star reserve team faced Termalica II Nieciecza away on Saturday morning in the 32nd round of the JAKO IV League. The visitors proved more effective, defeating the locals 2-1 thanks to goals from Michał Zimon and Kamil Kaczówka.
Wisła II Kraków had another difficult match behind them, in which they had to fight hard for victory. The first half was dominated by the Kraków team, and they managed to open the scoring in the sixth minute. Kamil Kaczówka had two chances to take the lead earlier, but it was Michał Zimon, after a pass from Piotr Ćwik, who gave the visitors the first goal, finding himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and beating him with a low shot. The well-placed goal further motivated Wisła's players, who were increasingly frequent visitors to Termalica's penalty area. Wisła continued to attack, creating threats, but failed to extend their lead. Dawid Olejarka, a long-range striker, and Wiktor Szywacz had opportunities to do so, receiving a pass in the penalty area several dozen seconds before the end of the first half and firing from a dozen or so yards out, but to no avail. The hosts tried to fight back against the Krakow team in this part of the match, but they only managed to get the ball rolling occasionally, not causing any major problems for the visitors.
A difficult fight for three points
After the break, Wisła quickly went on the attack, trying to capitalize on further scoring opportunities. Just after the break, Karol Sałamaj passed the ball into the penalty area to Kamil Kaczówka, who took a left-footed shot, but the opposing goalkeeper showed quick reflexes. The home side, irritated by the goal conceded and the opposition's repeated attempts, began to take the offensive with increasing boldness, and five minutes into the second half, they launched a successful attack, which was followed by a brilliant save from Wisła's goalkeeper. However, the Kraków team soon gave the home side another run for their money when Kamil Kaczówka, following a pass from Piotr Ćwik, entered the penalty area and won a duel with two Termalica players, then headed the ball home, but once again, the Nieciecza goalkeeper prevailed. The home side finally secured their victory with a converted penalty in the 65th minute. After the equalizer, the match opened up even further, and the excitement grew with each passing minute. The teams played a balanced, hard-fought game, but for a while, it didn't translate into clear-cut chances. The Kraków team weren't about to give up the field easily, aiming for a crucial victory. Marcin Bartoń tried his hand late in the period, striking from a tight angle on the right, but the ball fell to the Termalica goalkeeper. The White Star's reserves' persistence paid off in the 88th minute, when Kamil Kaczówka entered the penalty area with the ball, collecting a pass from Wiktor Szywacz. The player tried twice to find the back of the net, first hitting the goalkeeper, then deceiving a Termalica player, and finally finding the back of the net.
