Wisła II: win against Pogoń!
The final is here! Wisła Kraków's second-team team defeated Pogoń Kraków 3-1, securing a spot in the final of the Polish Cup at the MZPN level in the Kraków sub-district. The outcome of the match hung in the balance until the final minutes. Karol Tokarczyk secured Wisła's victory in stoppage time, scoring twice.
Match against lower-ranked Pogoń Kraków It was a thrilling affair and no walk in the park for coach Aleksandr Mikhailov's team. Faced with a significant number of injuries in the semifinals, the Wisła manager gave a chance to several young players. Maciej Pachel and Jakub Nowiński, among others, made their debuts for the second team in the second half.
The fans saw no goals in the first half, but the White Star players set the tone. However, their efficiency was lacking. In the 23rd minute, Dominik Sarga lost a close-range duel with the goalkeeper, and in the 32nd minute, the hosts were saved from conceding a goal by Maciej Kuziemka's crossbar.
After the break, Danylo Boiko and Karol Tokarczyk, among others, entered the field, and Wisła finally got their way. In the 59th minute, after a free kick taken by Yehor Khromykh, Radosław Skała opened the scoring, heading the ball into the net.
The home side responded immediately, however. In the 65th minute, a Pogoń player equalized by heading past Piotr Zagórowski following a corner kick.
Mood swings at the end
In the 71st minute, Wisła should have been ahead. Dawid Gap was illegally held up in the penalty area, but from eleven meters, he couldn't beat the opposing goalkeeper.
But that wasn't the last word for the Reymont team, who tipped the scales in their favor in stoppage time. In the 92nd minute, Tokarczyk capitalized on a fatal error by the opposing goalkeeper after a free kick, completing the task by firing into an empty net. Five minutes later, the White Star striker had already secured a double when, following a clever chip from Boiko, he sealed Wisła's advancement to the final.
The final match is scheduled for November 11th. The decisive opponent for Wisła Kraków will be determined by the second semifinal match, in which Wieczysta Kraków's second-place team will face Wisła Skawina. This match will take place on October 15th.
