Wisła II: Lost clash with Wisłoka
The White Star's second team hosted Wisłoka Dębica at Prądniczanka in Round 11 of the Betclic III League. Aleksander Mikhailov's side couldn't find a way to overcome their opponents, and they were forced to swallow the bitterness of defeat, losing 3-2. Mateusz Młyński scored the first goal for the White Star from the penalty spot, with Danylo Boiko adding the second.
The match started much more favorably for the visitors, who, just a few dozen seconds after the referee's first whistle, managed to capitalize on a set piece and find the back of Maciej Wolicki's goal. The quick lead propelled the visitors forward, but Wisła refused to give up the game easily and struggled to find a way to respond to their onrushing opponents.
However, their passing was lacking in accuracy. Initially, Wisła struggled to break through the Wisłoka defense, but in the 10th minute, they created their first clear-cut opportunity. After a restart and a Dębica defender cleared the ball with a header, Wiktor Szywacz fired home, and Karol Tokarczyk attempted to finish the move unsuccessfully. Tokarczyk had another good opportunity in the 25th minute, when, following a cross from Danylo Boiko, he volleyed home, but again, his effort was ineffective. A lucky break for the locals came shortly after. In the 29th minute, the referee adjudged a foul on Mateusz Młyński in the penalty area and awarded a penalty to the Reymont team, which the injured player himself took. Młyński confidently converted the set piece, giving the Wisłoka goalkeeper no chance to save, thus securing the equalizer.
Towards the end of the first half, the game began to even out, but the visitors had the final say. The visitors once again earned a free kick, from which a Wisłoka player struck at the far post, once again beating Maciej Wolicki.
Good disposition of the rivals
After the break, Wisła moved to close the gap, launching further attacks, but their opponents organized themselves defensively and effectively stifled White Star's efforts. The hosts continued to push forward, consistently trying to outplay Wisłoka's defense, which proved no easy task. The home side struggled to create a threat in front of goal for a while, but in the 67th minute, Maciej Kuziemka launched a solo attack, then tried to beat the Dębica goalkeeper with a powerful shot. The visitors soon capitalized on their chance to extend their lead, winning a penalty in the 76th minute and converting a set piece without any problems. White Star fought until the very end to turn the game around, with Dominik Sarga and Filip Baniowski having chances to do so, but they also failed to find the back of the net. Danylo Boiko reduced the deficit in stoppage time with a long-range shot that found the back of the net.
