Wisła II: Opening loss against Świdniczanka
In the first match of the spring round, Wisła Kraków's reserves were forced to accept defeat, losing 1-0 at home to Świdniczanka Świdnik. Although the Kraków team dominated for most of the match, the visitors capitalized on their opportunities and left Kraków with a victory.
From the opening minutes, Wisła imposed their style of play on their opponents, aiming to quickly take the lead and dominate the pitch. Early on, the hosts earned a free kick, which Michał Zimon took, but his shot hit the defenders' wall. In the following minutes, the hosts continued their offensive and created several good scoring opportunities. First, Maksym Tsymbaliuk and then Szymon Kawała tried their hand, but in both cases the Świdniczanka goalkeeper displayed excellent reflexes. After several decent attempts by the home side, play began to shift towards midfield, and for a long time, neither side was able to create a clear-cut chance. Things became a bit more interesting in stoppage time, when Wisła launched another dangerous attack that could have resulted in an equalizer. Maksym Tsymbaliuk spotted the well-positioned Maciej Kuziemka and precisely crossed the ball into the penalty area, who volleyed home, unfortunately narrowly missing the target. As it turned out, the missed opportunities backfired on the hosts. In the final action of the first half, the visitors came out swinging, capping it off with a well-placed shot under the crossbar from a tight angle, and thus
giving his team the lead just before the break.
