Wisła II: No points against Chełmianka

The White Star reserve team faced Chełmianka at home at noon in the 5th round of the Betclic III League. The Krakow team ultimately lost 1-0.

Coach Bartosz Bąk's side have been trying to break their winless streak for several matches, a feat they failed to achieve this time. Early in the match, the Kraków team carved out a golden opportunity to open the scoring when Yehor Khromykh delivered a cross from a different position. After a few exchanges in the penalty area, the ball found Dawid Olejarka, who fired home from distance. The opposing goalkeeper showed quick reflexes, and Maciej Kuziemka attempted to finish, but again, his shot was off target.

The visitors showed better efficiency a few moments later. After a throw-in, the ball fell onto the head of a Wisła player, then unfortunately fell to the feet of a Chełmianka player, who gave Piotr Zagórowski no chance. After an impressive start, both teams stagnated, and neither side was able to create a clear goal for a prolonged period. Both Wisła and Chełmianka attempted to regain control of the game, but to no avail. The score remained unchanged for the remainder of the half.

A difficult clash with Chełmianka

After the break, Wisła displayed great determination to equalize. Yehor Khromykh had the first chance, sending the ball wide after a well-thought-out move. Maciej Kuziemka then won the ball, winning a one-on-one and firing a shot from distance, but the ball ricocheted off the opponent and changed course. Despite missed opportunities, Wisła persisted in their attempts and soon won a free kick, which Dawid Olejarka failed to convert. In the 66th minute, the hosts initiated another attack – Dawid Olejarka passed the ball into the penalty area to Kamil Kaczówka, who passed it to Maciej Kuziemka. The young Wisła player shot from a tight angle to the far post, but his shot was imprecise.

The visitors also occasionally created chances, but they focused on defending the score, often trying to stall the game. The home side maintained their momentum until the very end, and Dominik Sarga tried twice more to turn the tide in stoppage time, but to no avail.
