U-17: Defeat in a friendly against AKS SMS Łódź

The U-17 team played their first friendly match in the ongoing preparation period for the Central Junior League. The young Wisła players faced AKS SMS Łódź at home, losing 1-8 to the visitors. Maks Podwysocki scored the only goal for the Kraków team.

Coach Patryk Jałocha's players played their first friendly match on Wednesday morning. The Kraków team has already completed their first week of preparations, culminating in a football test against AKS SMS Łódź. The match was divided into three halves, each lasting 30 minutes.

From the outset, the hosts made every effort to counter the pressure exerted by the Łódź team and temper their momentum, but ultimately it was the visitors who claimed victory. The visitors outplayed the Wisła goalkeepers eight times and found the back of the net, to which Wisła managed only one goal on target, scored by Maks Podwysocki. The first friendly certainly didn't go as the Kraków team had hoped, but it yielded many lessons that will be valuable and will contribute to building a cohesive team.

Wisła's next friendly match is on Saturday, when they face Ruch Chorzów on home soil. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:30 PM.

"Our opponent was better than us today in every aspect, tactically, technically, physically, and mentally. This match shows how much work lies ahead. We've only had six training sessions, and the group is practically brand new. Of the 29 players who played today, only eight trained with the U-17 team last season. We'll definitely be making progress gradually," said coach Patryk Jałocha after the match.
