U-15: draw with Sandecja Nowy Sącz

Wisła Kraków U-15 players shared the points with Sandecja Nowy Sącz in the 8th round of the Central Junior League, drawing 3-3. However, Wisła may be feeling a bit dissatisfied after the match ended, as they were leading 3-0 after just 20 minutes.

The White Star players were looking to redeem themselves after their 3-0 defeat to Stal Rzeszów, and by halftime everything was going perfectly for them against Sandecja Nowy Sącz. Wisła were leading 3-0 thanks to two goals from Marcin Berezka and one from Mateusz Surma.

Wiślaki's thunderous opening

Berezka opened the scoring in the sixth minute, beating the opposing goalkeeper with a low shot after a pass from Przemysław Herman. Two minutes later, Wisła had a two-goal lead. Berezka scored a double, this time converting Mateusz Surma's cross in a split second.

Coach Dawid Ślusarczyk's men showed no signs of slowing down, and after 20 minutes, it was 3-0. This time, Surma took on the role of enforcer, finishing off a flat cross from the left.

However, coach Dawid Ślusarczyk's men were unable to secure a favorable result until the end of the match. After the break, their opponents took the lead, and the complexion of the game changed.

Four minutes after the restart, Sandecja found the back of the net for the first time, guarded by Piotr Nowacki, who replaced Szymon Koładka between the posts.

The visitors followed up the attack and a few minutes later, after a cross from the end line, the ball completely surprised the White Star goalkeeper and it was 3-2.

Wisła Kraków then took the lead, but Berezka failed to capitalize on several good opportunities. This backfired on the White Star players in the final seconds, when Sandecja tied the game after a lightning-fast attack.

"I think we had a plan for this match and we executed it well. We were very dangerous in the attacking phase and were able to create scoring opportunities, but we need to play consistently in both halves. I hope we will learn from what happened in the second half and avoid such situations in future matches," concluded U-15 coach Dawid Ślusarczyk.

The youngest Wisła team competing at the Central Junior League level has collected 12 points in the eight rounds so far (three wins, three draws and two defeats), which currently gives it sixth position in the table.

Wisła's next match is an away clash against Górnik Łęczna. The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th at 1:30 PM.
