Uryga: There is no question of letting go

The White Star secured another three points in the league table. This time, coach Mariusz Jop's side defeated ŁKS Łódź at home. After the match, we spoke with the White Star's defender, Alan Uryga.

Alan Uryga couldn't hide his satisfaction with Saturday's victory over his direct opponent in the table. "We finally managed to turn the tables on a match that didn't start well, but I think it was a deserved victory, absolute dominance on our part, and we're happy we managed to score two goals. There have often been matches where we dominated, played well, but lacked a goal or the time to score it," the defender noted.

The start of the match wasn't ideal for the Kraków players, but they showed their true strength later on. "In the context of the entire match, only a madman would say we weren't dominant. Of course, I'm not saying we had control of the start. We got into the game too nervously, but it's ten minutes and there are eighty left. It seems to me, right now, that there's no way we could have won anything other than a deserved victory," he said.

The victory over this opponent moved the Kraków team even closer to the top of the league table. "A crucial victory considering we played a direct rival in the table, but we earned three points, which is the same as we would have earned against someone at the bottom of the table, and that often led to our downfall. We played against outsiders, we were the favorites, and those points slipped away. Only victories can move us up the table. We look to the future with positive hopes, as we have a chance to climb to the top," noted the Wisła player.

The White Star defender was also asked about Łukasz Zwoliński's fantastic form. "We can't help but be happy that the burden of scoring goals is being shared by more than one player, which was a big problem previously. There was a risk that if Angel was injured or had a weak moment, it would have been difficult to find someone responsible for scoring goals. We, as a team, are happy that we don't have to rely on just one person," he admitted.

Wisła now has two important matches ahead of them, both against Polonia Warsaw. "We're going there with the same mindset as always – to win. We want to take three points there and return with a spot in the next round of the Polish Cup. There's no question of slacking off or the infamous 'focusing on the league'. Football is what it is, and sometimes it doesn't take much to make a big difference," he concluded.
