U-17: a flurry of goals and a priceless win against Widzew

Wisła Kraków U-17 players have been waiting for this kind of victory! Coach Patryk Jałocha's men defeated Widzew Łódź 5-3 away in a 12th round match of the Central Junior League. Kacper Gut, Jakub Czubernat, Oskar Janczy, Dawid Szczepaniak, and Milan Olej were among the scorers, moving Wisła away from the relegation zone.

The match in Łódź went brilliantly for Wisła. After just 22 minutes, coach Patryk Jałocha's team took a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Kacper Gut, Jakub Czubernat, and Oskar Janczy. Widzew responded before the break, surprising the White Star defense twice in the space of three minutes.

The match continued to be a nail-biter after the break. Dawid Szczepaniak scored in the 64th minute to make it 4-2, but the hosts pulled one back in the 85th.

However, the fate of the match was decided in the 89th minute by Milan Olej, who confidently converted a penalty kick.

"We started the match very well. We knew what we wanted to achieve and tried to execute that plan. I'm very pleased that we were able to keep the ball for extended periods, thus creating spaces. We scored five goals, which is certainly encouraging, but looking back on the match as a whole, we could have easily added a few more. This would have probably given us more control over the match. We definitely need to stay more focused with a positive result. The way we conceded the goals highlighted areas we need to work on to be more effective in defense. The important thing is that we pushed for victory until the very end and looked for opportunities to score more goals," concluded U-17 coach Patryk Jałocha.

Wisła added a valuable three points to their tally and moved further away from the relegation zone. After 12 rounds, the White Star players have 13 points.

In the 13th round of the Wisła junior league, they will face Górnik Łęczna. The match is scheduled for Thursday, October 31st at 2:00 PM in Myślenice.
